The Birth of Kitaro : TruBorn Edition Kitaro and his father, Medama-Oyaji, step into the ruins of what was once called Nagura Village, prompting Medama-Oyaji to recall the events that occurred there 70 years ago—the story of their encounter with that man and the fate they faced. Back in Showa year 31, Nagura Village was ruled by the Ryuga family, who controlled Japan's politics from behind the scenes. The ambitious blood banker Mizuki, on a secret mission, arrived in the village to pay respects to the late Ryuga Tokisada, the head of the Ryuga family. Meanwhile, Kitaro's father entered the village in search of his wife. Both encountered the vile power struggle within the Ryuga family for the successor's position. When a family member was brutally murdered at the village's shrine, it marked the true beginning of a series of horrifying events.
